About NEWROC
A collaborative partnership for regional progress
The North Eastern Wheatbelt Regional Organisation of Councils (NEWROC) is a voluntary alliance of seven local governments in Western Australia’s north-eastern Wheatbelt. Formed to strengthen regional cooperation, NEWROC brings together the Shires of Dowerin, Koorda, Mount Marshall, Mukinbudin, Nungarin, Trayning and Wyalkatchem.
Together, we’re working to create vibrant, resilient communities by:

Where we’re located
The NEWROC region spans over 22,000 square kilometres, located just 180km from Perth. With strong road connections and a shared time zone with the capital, our region is well positioned for both investment and collaboration.
Home to over 3,200 people, including a growing population of seniors, the region also supports 570+ local businesses and contributes over $460 million annually through agriculture alone.
