Together, they provide guidance, governance and leadership to support the organisation’s mission and drive positive outcomes for the region.

Melanie Brown, Shire of Trayning President

President, NEWROC

Cr Melanie Brown has lived in the district of Trayning for 34 years and is actively involved in running her family’s third-generation broadacre farm. She has served on the Shire of Trayning Council for the past ten years, including eight as Shire President. Cr Brown is a committed regional leader, serving on various Council committees, acting as Deputy President of the WALGA Great Eastern Country Zone Committee, and representing NEWROC as President for the past two years. She is also a member of the Kununoppin Medical Practice Committee.

Chief Executive Officer, NEWROC

Peter brings extensive experience in local government, having served as CEO for the Shires of Cuballing, Cunderdin and Laverton. His in-depth knowledge of governance, strategic planning, and regional road funding supports NEWROC’s operational and advocacy work across the region.

Executive Officer, NEWROC

Caroline has served as NEWROC’s Executive Officer for 13 years, providing leadership in governance, strategy and regional development. Known for her people-focused and strategic approach, Caroline supports not-for-profits and government organisations to connect services and build capacity. She is a life member of the Wheatbelt Business Network and currently serves as Chair of the Ravensthorpe Hopetoun Future Fund.
