NEWROC & Town Team Movement

Helping NEWROC doers improve their communities

NEWROC has partnered with the Town Team Movement to support a Wheatbelt Town Team Builder – a dedicated resource working with local governments and communities across our region to help activate town centres, build local capacity, and bring ideas to life.

Based in the NEWROC area, the Town Team Builder is here to support existing Town Teams, help new teams form, and assist local governments and residents to collaborate on vibrant, people-focused places.

Town Teams are:

What is a Town Team?

A Town Team is a group of locals – businesses, residents, landowners and community members – working together with their local government to make their town or main street more vibrant, inclusive and connected.

Town Teams focus on positive action, community connection and place activation. They’re not just about meetings or talk – they’re about doing.

The Town Team Way

Town Teams follow six core principles that guide how they act and engage:

“The imagination, the sweat, the enthusiasm, and the efforts of its people are the greatest resource that any place has.”
